Yemen's ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Khalid bin Shoteif has praised the Omani authorities for foiling a bid to smuggling Yemeni antiquities at the country's border with Yemen.
The Omani Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Heritage Affairs, Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, briefed Shoteif on the Omani prevention of a bid to smuggle 52 pieces Yemeni artifacts, an effort Shoteif spoke highly of.
The two officials stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fight against the smuggling of artifacts and masterpieces.
