The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Supreme Relief Committee holds emergency meeting with UN's agencies operate in our country

Supreme Relief Committee (SRC) held emergency meetings Thursday in Aden with the (OCHA) and the UN's organizations operating in our county.

The General Coordinator of the SCR in Aden Jamal Balfaqeeh detailed the UN's agencies on the size of damages caused by "Mockano" cyclone which hit Socotra province.

The meeting has approved establishing 11 sheltering centers in the province and to coordinate about establishing sheltering centers in the other provinces where the cyclone is expected to hit.

The meeting also discussed the necessary measures to be taken by the international organizations to deal with the potential damages may occur in case that the cyclone reach to the provinces of (Al-Mahara, Hudramout, Shabwa). Establishing joint operation units to provide the affected people with shelter and medical teams and camps were also discussed.

The international organizations showed willingness to coordinate with the SRC to dispatch the relief and rescue teams from Aden to relieve the people in need.
