Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah urged the Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, Liza Grande, to instruct the UN's organizations operate in Yemen to dispatch quickly medial and relief teams of the provinces of ( Socotra, Al-Mahara, Shabwa and Hudramout) and other provinces that suffered damages as a result of the cyclone.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah described Socotra as a disaster province. He said " Socotra is a disaster province in the wake of the devastating damages the houses and property were subjected to, ships and boats were drown , number of people who are missing, trapped and affected increased".
Fatah ordered the Supreme Relief Committee in Aden to hold emergency meetings with the concerned organizations and interested parties, coordinate with all authorities dispatch relief and rescue teams that can provided the displaced people in Socotra with sheltering stuffs, food and medicines.
