RIYADH -SABA
The Saudi Royal Air Force has intercepted a ballistic missile fired in the direction of the Saudi city of Jazan by the Houthi militia early on Monday.
The spokesman for the Arab Coalition forces Colonel Turki al-Maliki said in a press statement quoted by the Saudi Press Agency that "at exactly 04:39 dawn time the air defense forces of the Coalition spotted the launch of a ballistic missile by the Iran-affiliate Houthi militia from the province of Saada towards the city (Jazan). It had been launched deliberately to target areas populated by civilians, he said.
He pointed out that the destruction of the missile in the air left in fragments to come down on residential neighborhoods but no caualitis were caused.
Al-Maliki added that this hostile action by the Houthi terrorist militia proves the Iranian regime's continued involvement in supporting the Houthi armed militia with quality capabilities in a clear defiance of the UN resolutions no. 2216 and 2231 in order to threaten the Saudi and regional and international security.
