Arroaini: Maintaining Socotra's language must be everybody's business

Minister of State for Implementing the Outcomes of National Dialogue Yasser Arroain stated that the government is very interested in maintaining the two languages: Al-Mahriah and Al-Socotriah. "This is stipulated in the outcomes of the national dialogue" , said Arroaini.
The Minister's statement came as he launched the Cultural Seminar organized Monday in the premises of the Education College in the province of Socotra Archipelagos. He said:" The outcomes of the National Dialogue stressed the importance of preserving the two languages: Al-Mahriah and Al-Socotriah, initiating necessary procedures to turn the two languages into a written language, establishing department to teach the old Yemeni languages at the Universities, mover over local Radio Stations in the two provinces of Al-Mahra and Socotra should produce cultural programs in the two languages: Al-Mahriah and Al-Socotriah".
The Minister added that work now is underway to establish the National Center for the Two Languages: Al-Mahriah and Al-Socotriah. The Center will coordinate with researchers in the two provinces to put down the two languages"
