Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Ahmed al-Maysari has issued a directive to the Finance Ministry to enlist the family of Ibraheem Qawnas a slain Yemeni fisherman in the public payroll.
Qawnas was shot dead by a crewman onboard a Norwegian commercial vessel in the Yemeni waters in 2011. Al-Maysari issued the directive during a meeting with Qawnas's relatives in Aden on Sunday.
He assured them that the government, through the Foreign Ministry, would approach the Norwegian courts over the issue.
