Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi discussed with Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkin support of the sponsor countries of Yemen's transfer to the UN Envoy's efforts for reaching just and permanent political solution to the country's crisis.

The political solution Yemen always urges is based on the Gulf Cooperation Council's Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216. Al-Mikhlafi valued Russian participation in the UN Donor Conference in Geneva for financing humanitarian response plan and Russian assistances provided to Yemen last year.

He also thanked Russian scholarships to Yemen, pointing to efforts of the ambassador in facilitating them.

For his part, the Russian diplomat reaffirmed his country's firm position on supporting government and helping the UN envoy for reaching a political solution in Yemen.
