[26/03/2018 06:27]

RIYADH-SABA
Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi received Monday ambassador of the Republic of France to our country Christian Tetsou.

Yemeni-French bilateral ties were a central focus of the Foreign Minister and French diplomat conversation.

The meeting touched upon the situations in Yemen and the good offices have been made by the UN newly appointed envoy. The Foreign Minister voiced the Yemeni government's support for Mr Martin Griffith.

Al-Mekhlafi blamed Houthis' ballistic missiles attacks against Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA ), noting that firing missiles on the KSA while the UN envoy on a visit to Sana'a is sending a clear message that the militia is unwilling to come to peace." The militia' message by firing missiles has made clear that the militia won't comply with any agreement or international resolutions" said Al-Mekhlafi.

The meeting also touched upon underway arrangements for Geneva fund-raising conference scheduled to be convened next week in Geneva.

The French ambassador confirmed that he is going to attend Geneva gathering aimed to mobilize international resources to fund the UN Humanitarian Response Plan of 2018.

Mr Tetsou also reaffirmed French government support for the legitimate Yemeni government, as well as French contribution to the humanitarian campaigns intended to alleviate the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
