Mareb Local Authority and Ministry of Oil and Minerals have approved shutting down all illegal gas stations and combating fuel black markets.
In the meeting held on Thursday and presided over by Mareb Governor Sultan al-Irada, Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals Shawqi al-Mikhlafi and Director of Gas Company Anwar Salem, Mareb Local Authority and the Ministry approved establishing four new public gas stations.
The meeting also approved import fuel to Mareb from international markets to end monopoly on fuel and on handing over cooking gas to all people across Yemen.
The convening officials held Houthi militia responsible on playing with oil derivatives and their prices in their held-areas for imposing illegal tariffs on citizens and increasing prices, pointing out that the government is keen on providing oil derivatives and gas as well as all services to all people across the country.
The meeting stressed on coordination with security forces and concerned military units for fighting smuggling oil derivatives and banning monopoly.
Playing with people living is big crime will not neglected, said al-Irada, stressing on punishing any official or employee playing with his duties. He also stressed on taking measures for ensuring provision of oil and gas substances to all citizens and combating black market.
For his part, al-Mikhlafi confirmed that the ministry seeks for having full partnership with Mareb local authority, which embodies the state's responsibility.
He stressed on arresting players in the black market and referring them to justice.
