His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad a-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), affirmed that the state is determined to protect civilians, uphold its legal standing and maintain unity in its military and security decisions, warning of the danger posed by the escalation of the South Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout and al-Mahra governorates and the involvement of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in supporting the rebellion and undermining state institutions.

Yemen, Holland explores cooperation in Human Rights

Yemeni-Dutch talks on human rights held in Geneva on the sideline of the 37th Round of Human Rights Council.

Minister of Human Rights Mohammed Askar and Foreign Ministry of Royal Kingdom of Holland Sigrid Kaag discussed aspects of cooperation in the area of human rights.

The need for capacity-building of the National Committee tasked with investigations into human rights violations was key focus of the discussion.

Askar explained the grave violations of human rights by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The talks also touched upon the mission of the 'Experts Team' set up under a resolution of the Human Rights Council in its 36th Round.

The Dutch Foreign Minister has affirmed her country's continuous support for the legitimate government of Yemen and Dutch support for Human Rights Ministry and civil society organization.

Yemen's ambassador to Geneva Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar, Dutch ambassador Monica Van and Dutch ambassador of Human Rights Keas Van were in attendance.
