The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

The Minister of Human Rights, Mohammed Askar discussed with the Director of the High Commission for Refugees Director of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Jacqueline Parlevliet the challenges of refuge and raising awareness about the international law on refuge, as well as cooperation between the Yemeni government and UNHCR.
They also discussed how to facilitate UNHCR's work in the capital, Aden.
Jacqueline promised to hold meetings and support the implementation of joint programs with the Ministry and work together to improve the human rights environment.
