Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Salehtold the UK Ambassador to Yemen Mr. Simon Shercliffthat lasting peace with Houthi rebels is the goal which president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's government is seeking.

In a meeting between the two officials in Riyadh on Monday, Ali Mohsen said "the lasting peace rests on the GCC Agreement, the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the UN Security Council's resolutionsincluding resolution no. 2216 is the goal."

The UK Ambassador renewed his country's "support to the government and keenness on saving the Yemeni blood and stabilizing the country."
