Syo'un international airport made remarkable progress in 2017. The total number of flights from and to the airport counted 908 flights in 2016.

Manager of Syo'un international airport Eng. Hassan Farj Al-Qathiri told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) the travelers movement was almost redoubled compared with the same period of 2016. "Total number of the passengers came up to 13 thousands and 39", said Al-Qathiri.

The airport operated international flights from Syo'un to Oman, Jeddah, Cairo and Nairobi. Some 82 thousands and 248 kg of the goods transported through the airport in 2017.
