Ambassadors condemn Houthifiring of ballistic missile toward Riyadh

The foreign ambassadors to Yemen have condemned the Houthi rebel militia's firing of a ballistic missile which the Saudi air defenses intercepted and prevented from landing onpopulated civilian areas in the capital Riyadh.

The missile happened to be intercepted on Tuesday afternoon at a moment when President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadiwas in a meeting with a large number of foreign diplomats accredited to Yemen discussing together how to sort out the Yemeni humanitarian suffering triggered by the terrorist Houthi militia.

The ambassadors expressed their support to the efforts of the UN special envoy to Yemen for resolving the crisis peacefully and welcomed a Saudi overture to support rebuilding and reviving the Yemeni economy.

The ambassadors reiterated that the Houthi missile attacks and the acts of killing, persecution and detentions of oppositionists in Sana'a is a serious setback to the peaceful solution and to the delivery of humanitarian relief objects indispensable to the survival of the people.
