Yemen's Ambassador to the United States made on Thursday a statement to the effect Yemen needs its international friends and the support of the US Congress more than ever before.
He made the remarks during a meeting with the US Congresswoman Debbie Dingell in Washington on Thursday.
Bin Mubarak said the US is one of the biggest donors to Yemen and that the US humanitarian assistance offered to Yemen has amounted to $467, calling for the continuity of support in all fields especially education, water, infrastructure and in jumpstarting terrorism programs.
He hailed the US support to the government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the role of the Congress in promoting the US-Yemeni relations.
Dingell affirmed her country's interest in maintaining support to the Yemeni government and people. She expressed her hope in reaching a settlement to the Yemeni conflict and for peace and reconstruction to begin in the country.
She also expressed her support to the government in fighting terrorism in all warfronts.
