A tripartite agreement was signed Wednesday between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the Yemeni Oil Company (PetroMasila), and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen to finance petroleum derivatives and supply more than 70 power generation stations across various governorates.

Efforts need to be redoubled to save national economy, says VP

Vice President Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Ali Mohssen Saleh met Thursday with Undersecretary of Ministry of Oil and Minerals Eng. Shawqi Al-Mikhlafi.

Eng. Al-Mikhlafi reported to the Vice President about underway efforts aiming to re-operate oil sector. The report also included Ministry's plans and communications with oil firms operating in the countries with the purpose of bringing oil industry back into operation.

The Vice President ordered local authorities in the provinces, military and security services to cooperate with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals in order help creating supportive milieus for oil companies to come back to the country.

" Efforts need to be redoubled in order to rescue national economy and improve national income. This is urgently required to enable legal government do its job effectively and prevent a looming economic collapse due to the militias coup", Mohssen, noted.
