LONDON-SABA
Alistair Burt, the UK minister for the Middle East at the Foreign Office said on Thursday “I am deeply concerned by reports that Iran has provided the Houthis with ballistic missiles, which threaten regional security and prolong the conflict. It is essential that the UN investigates these reports."
The UK Government condemned the Houthi ballistic missile fired toward the Saudi capital Riyadh but intercepted by the Saudi military near it on 4 November.
Mr Burt said the concerns about Iran's provisions of weapons to the Houthis and ousted President Saleh's forces had been raised with Iran before.
Burt called on the Houthi-Saleh rebel forces to end their destabilising campaign and called for a political solution to the conflict.
