Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, accompanied by his deputy Dr. Abdullah Abu al-Ghaith, arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Thursday to participate in the proceedings of the eighth conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments, scheduled to be held next Saturday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States.

Yemen, FAO discuss agricultural projects

Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Ahmad al-Maisari discussed on Thursday with the Field Coordinator of Food and Agriculture Organization Ahmad Ismail means of implementing food plans and programs across liberated provinces.

Minister al-Maisari confirmed transferring international organizations to the transitional capital of Aden for closely investigating needs and requirements of these provinces in field of agriculture after being hugely damaged by Houthi-Saleh's war on the city 2015.

He pointed out to supporting small farmers for boosting their productivity helping food security to be implemented in participation with the Social Fund for Development in seven provinces.

He confirmed on providing the ministry with documents, plans and budgets for implementing development projects in agriculture sector across liberated areas on boosting food security and promoting living conditions.

For his part, Ismail reviewed projects which are being implemented across liberated provinces in field of food security and special interventions of food security systems.

He confirmed boosting mutual confidence between the organization and the ministry for implementing agriculture projects helping farmers in improving food security.
