Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh has highly commended the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to the state and people of Yemen.
In a meeting with the GCC Secretary General's Special Envoy to Yemen Col.Medkhel bin Dhakil Al-Hothali in Riyadh on Saturday, the Vice Presidentexpressed the appreciation of the Yemeni people and political leadership of the role that the GCC plays in all transformations unfolding in Yemen, the last of which was the support to the government against the Iran-inspired Houthi coup.
The Vice President affirmed that hope is pinned on the GCC and the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia to salvage Yemen, restore the state and contribute largely to the process of development and reconstruction.
He highlighted the geostrategic importance of Yemen and the gravity of the Houthi threat to the interests of Yemen and the brotherly and friendly nations; the international shipping in Yemeni waters and, by extension, the international peace and security
