The Republic of Yemen has endorsed the Safe Schools Declaration. Yemen's permanent envoy to the UN Khalid Hussein Al-Yamani singed on the declaration on Thursday.
The signature was done in a meeting held in the UN premises in New York brought together Al-Yamani and the deputy of the Secretary General of the UN and the special representative of children amid armed conflict..
The declaration aims to insure schools security and safety in the times of armed conflicts and protect schools from military use.
Al-Yamani said:" By endorsing this declaration Yemeni government was sending a clear message to the international community that it is very keen to protect schools and children from armed conflicts".
Yemen is one of 69 countries have joined to this international declaration so far.
