Appeal to int'l community to stop shedding blood of Yemeni journalists
[20/09/2017 07:49]

GENEVA-SABA
Yemen's Information Ministry, Federation of Arab Journalists, Syndicate of Yemeni Journalists, Yemeni Media Observatory and several likeminded organizations issued today a joint urgent appeal to the international community to stop the shedding of blood of Yemeni journalists.

The mentioned organizations were holding a press conference this Wednesday on the sideline of the HRC 36th session in Geneva.

The appeal said the HRC session is "an important opportunity to relay the voices of the victim journalists of Yemen to the world, given the despicable crimes that they are enduring, the most horrible abuses since the birth of Yemeni journalism."

The appeal called in the international community to also "pressurize on the radical coup militias to release the journalists in their custody unconditionally."

The appeal said the atrocities against journalists included killing, abduction and forced disappearances.
