Yemen's Ambassador to Austria, HaythamShojaaAddeen, has acquainted Suleiman al-Herbish, the Director General of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), on the reconstruction in the parts already retaken by the Yemeni government.
The Ambassador hailed the longstanding cooperation between Yemen and OFID - dating back to 1976 – saying OFID is an effective partner to Yemen.
The Ambassador especially thanked OFID's support with relief and food aid to around 17,000 Yemenis in the areas most afflicted by the war between the government and Saleh-Houthi coup militias.
The Ambassador said Yemen is looking forward to OFID's resumption of project sponsoring in Yemen.
On his part, OFID Director General affirmed the institution's commitment to supporting the developing nations, including Yemen, for their sustainable development. He said that OFIDis committed to support the relief aid and resume the stalled projects in Yemen.
