Prime Minister directs facing oil crisis in Aden

Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin Daghr issued directives to ministries of oil and of finance on facing oil derivatives' crisis here and setting up practical mechanism to stop its repetition.

In an emergency meeting presided over by Prime Minister bin Daghr Thursday evening, they approved buying 15000 tons of petrol and importing them imminently no later than Saturday.

He directed the Tender Committee to meet on Friday morning for announcing the tender by Yemeni Riyal for buying this quantity of petrol and the Yemeni Oil Company, Aden branch is to pay for the shipment.

To avoid such crises in the future, he issued directives to the tender committee for holding its meetings regularly for buying additional quantities to guarantee provision of reserve of oil derivatives for months to come.
