The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

President condoles Abyan governor on fall of soldiers in terror attack

President Abdu R. Mansour Hadi has condoled Abyan governor Abu Bakr H. Salem and the families of soldiers killed on Tuesday in a sudden terror attack in Lawder of Abyan.
Hadi sent the condolences in a cable to the governor today.
The soldiers were manning a security checkpoint in the said area on Tuesday when al-Qaeda militants launched a surprise shooting incurring the causalities.
The president said the terrorist operation was "naked of moral values and humanitarian values and against the orthodox Islamic creed."
Hadi affirmed that the government and army are determined to fight terrorism and uproot it so as to enable the Yemeni people enjoy living in peace and security.
