Fatah calls on int'l community to press rebels into halting abuses

Chairman of the Supreme Commission for Relief Abduraqeeb Fatah has called on the international community to press the SalehHouthirebel militias into calling off their abuses against the citizens.
In a statement to Saba, Fatah said the militias are striking houses, displacing safe people from their houses and detaining people who dissent against their opinions.
Fatah said the militias have refused all opportunities of peace which the government gave them and have refused to release citizens held in their detentions for no reason.
"The militiaspreventing of the ICRC president Peter Maurerfrom visiting prisons in the areas under their controlis an indication of that they are indifferent to all humanitariancovenantsenshrined by all humanitarian and international laws."
The ICRC chief, however, inspected all prisoners in government-controlled prisons during his visit to downtown Taiz.
