Minister of Oil SayfAshareef has inspected the Geological Authority building in Aden and called for its return back to operation after a long closure due to the war with the rebels.
The minister highlighted the importance of the Authority's role in preparing mineral studies, as part of paving the road for investments in this vital sector.
Yemen has various minerals in abundance in different parts of the country, according to the geological surveys and maps.
The minister also visited the Yemeni Company for Oil Investments, where he was briefed about the works underway to rehabilitate the facilities of block 4, including in increasing the storage capacity for crude oil quantities coming from other blocksat a USD 8 million government funding.
The minister also discussed the company's studies on connecting Jannah block and S-2 block of OMV to block 4 in Ayadh, Shabwah, with an oil pipeline. He emphasized the need to make haste in implementing this project after the contract of the project is awarded to the successful bidder.
