Yemen's Interior Minister has underlined the importance of US role in making any settlement a success and in achieving a just lasting peace.
The minister Major Gen. Hussein Arab expressed this during a meeting with the US ambassador to Yemen Matthew H. Tueller in Riyadh today.
The minister emphasized the importance of other things; the effective and direct US presence in all arenas of challenge to the security of Yemen and, by extension, the security and peace of the world; the continuity of US-Yemeni coordinated action in confronting terrorism and securing the Yemeni coasts along the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea in cooperation with the Saudi-led Arab coalition.
During the talks, the minister made mention of: the latest developments on the local landscape citing the efforts to maintain peace and order in the capital city, Aden, and other government-held areas; the efforts to provide the public the basic services of water, power, education and health.
