Yemen's Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani has hailed Egypt's leading regional role in countering extremism and terrorism.
In a meeting with the chairman of the Higher Egyptian Council for Media Organization, Mukarram Ahmed in Cairo today, minister al-Eryani discussed the prospects of Yemen-Egypt cooperation in the field of information.
Al-Eryani said that the Arab information ministers' recent meeting with the Egyptian leader Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi - ahead of their 48th regular session - was important.
He said that Al-Sisi was keen for the continuity of Yemen peace and stability, which he manifests his wise leadership.
The Yemeni minister explained to Mukarram how Yemenis engaged from 2013 in a national dialogue that wrapped up with the Yemenis reaching a draft constitution and federal state proposal, before the Houthis rebelled and took over the capital Sana'a and other cities.
The minister also affirmed the interest of the Yemeni government in a a fair lasting peace that does not allow the coup experience to occur again in the future.
Al-Eryani gave the Egyptian official an account on the Saleh-Houthi militias' atrocities against journalist; arbitrary arrest, detention, intimidation, killing, torture and forcible displacement .
Al-Eryani expressed the interest to start cooperation in media training and expertise sharing with Egypt in all media fields including the technical aspects.
The minister also praised the professional Egyptian media coverage of events in Yemen in a manner that supports the legitimate government and unity and security of Yemen.
