TAIZ-SABA
A senior Taiz military official told the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) today that hygiene, sanitation and water top the city's priorities if the contagious diseases are to be kept at bay.
The commander of Taiz Military Axis Khaled Fadhel made the remarks in a meeting with the ICRC visiting delegation, saying deterioration in those services helps spread the diseases and worsens the humanitarian situation.
The discussions centered in the overall humanitarian, especially health-related, situations.
The wretched humanitarian conditions in Taiz are caused by the Saleh-Houthi militias' longstanding war and siege on the city, Fadhel said, expressing gratitude to the international organizations for alleviating the civilians' suffering.
