Governor and FAO discuss creation of food security units in Aden

The governor of Aden Abdul-Aziz al-Muflahi discussed in a meeting with a delegation from the FAO, in Aden today, the creation of food

The governor and his aids met director of the FAO Food Security Program director, food security analyst and coordinator of the FAO in Aden.

The FAO Food Security Director said: "Our visit aims to create food security units in Aden." He referred to meetings held with the agriculture minister in this regard. He also said that units of this kind had already been created in Lahj and Hadhramout.

"We see to establish a coordination unit for food security systems in Aden to make it the focal point for gathering market data and creating an integrated database that collects outputs from the coordination units."

The governor gave an introduced the FAO delegation about the country's agricultural crops planted grown from local seeds and the challenges faced in the agricultural sector as a result of the coup militia's war.

The governor said corruption was another factor that degraded caused agriculture to deteriorate.
