Yemen condemns would-be terror attack against Makkah
[23/06/2017 11:44]

ADEN-SABA
The Republic of Yemen has condemned in the strongest terms the recurrent attempts to attack the holy sites of Makkah, the latest of which was by an extremist terrorist cell that wanted to strike while the Grand Mosque is packed with Omrah pilgrims and worshippers.

"The attempts to target the Grand Mosque by terrorist forces shows that these terrorist groups have crossed the red lines and how dangerous their plots are," a statement from Yemen's foreign ministry read.

Yemen affirmed its stance by the side of the kingdom in countering the scourge of terrorism, praising the Saudi security forces' high alertness which led to the foiling of the plot and to saving Muslim worshippers' lives.

The statement renewed Yemen's call for more united efforts to counter this deviated ideology of terrorists, uproot it and dry its sources out.
