Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin-Daghar on Wednesday formed a committee chaired by Deputy Interior Minister Ahmed Ali Masoud to investigate the incident of burning the Chinese consulate in Aden.
The premier expressed deep sorrow over the incident, asking the formed committee to swiftly investigate suspects, affirming that the perpetrators sought to undermine Yemeni-Chinese relations.
He noted that the relations between Yemen and China is strong and historical, reiterating that the Yemeni people and government highly appreciate support provided to Yemen by consecutive Chinese governments.
Meanwhile, the premier directed the Public Work Ministry to renovate the consulate, provide it with furniture at the expense of the government and then hand it over to anyone mandated by the Chinese Embassy.
