Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghr has issued orders to pay financial assistance to the families of the journalists who were killed and wounded by Houthi selling in Taiz this week.
Wayel Al-Absi, Taqyo Al-Adeen Al-Hodheifi and Saad Al-Nidhari, three were killed, whereas Waleed Al-Qadasi and Saha Addeen Lhodehifi were injured while covering clashes in the east of Taiz city on Friday. The five are young photo journalists.
The Prime Minister condemned the continuity of the rebel militias to carry out massacres against civilians, including journalists.
On Saturday a senior Media Ministry official deplored the "massacre" calling for the "prosecution of the perpetrators of such despicable crimes in the international courts" as "war criminals."
