BEIJING (Saba)- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday inaugurated the two-day summit of the Belt and Road Initiative with participation of a Yemeni delegation including Oil and Minerals Minister Saif al-Shareef, China Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed al-Mikhlafi and Deputy Director of Aden Refinery Company Ahmed Hassan Abdullah.
Delegations of over 100 countries, including the Russian president Vladimir Putin, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres.
The Yemeni delegation presented Yemen's needs to rebuild and develop infrastructure and called companies to invest in oil, gas, mineral and energy exploration.
Xi said that the Belt and Road Initiative embodies the spirt of peace, pointing out that the realization of the initiative requires the creation of a stable environment.
He further referred to the importance of creation international relations distinguished with cooperation and partnerships.
