The Minister of Interior Minister Maj. General Ibrahim Haydan held discussions today, Wednesday, with the Acting U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen, Neil Hopp over joint security cooperation between the two friendly countries.
During the conversations via video call, General Haidan greatly appreciated the United States' support for the internationally recognized government, backing efforts to achieve security and peace in the region, and supporting the Coast Guard.
The Minister stated that he is looking forward to further increase cooperation in maritime security, border control, combating illegal migration, fighting terrorism, and addressing the escalation of the Houthi terrorist militias and their threat to internal security and international shipping routes in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
The Acting U.S. Ambassador confirmed his administration's support for firming security cooperation with the Ministry, continuing coordination, collaboration and exchange of expertise and information to boost security and stability and manage common challenges.
