Minister of Interior Major General Ibrahim Haidan held Monday a video conference with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Yemen Shao Qing.
He discussed with him areas of cooperation in the security field and ways to strengthen and develop them.
The Minister of Interior praised the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, stressing the importance of enhancing areas of joint cooperation, particularly in supporting the Coast Guard forces and combating terrorism in order to deter threats and advance shared interests.
Haidan reviewed the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to consolidate security and stability, as well as the tasks being carried out by the security agencies in confronting security challenges and threats amid the continued escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The Minister of Interior also highlighted the violations and attacks committed by the Houthi militias, including targeting citizens’ homes and civilian facilities, threatening international shipping routes, targeting neighboring countries, and posing a threat to regional and international security and stability as well as the safety of maritime navigation.
For his part, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries and developing areas of joint security coordination.
