KUWAIT — SABA
Kuwait has reaffirmed its continued support for Yemen’s legitimate government and for efforts aimed at achieving peace, security and stability in the Republic of Yemen.
In a statement published by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its full appreciation for the statement issued by members of the UN Security Council on August 7, which underscored the need to uphold international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216.
The ministry also stressed the importance of respecting Yemen’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and rejecting actions that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation.
Kuwait welcomed the Security Council members’ statement and its condemnation of the missile attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia against Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as attacks targeting commercial vessels since July 22.
The ministry renewed Kuwait’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security.
