President al-Alimi Hails Creating Multinational Naval Alliance, Highlights Saudi Support for Yemeni State Institutions, Regional Security, Stability
[31/07/2026 02:52]

RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) underlined the announcement of the establishment of the Multinational Naval Defense Alliance led by Saudi Arabia, describing this move as a strategic initiative and a very important step to boost collective security, protect international navigation and secure vital sea routes in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

He voiced his comment during his meeting with the Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority (CRA), Mohammed al-Ghaithi, his deputies Abdul Malik al-Mekhlafi, Sakhr al-Wajeah, Akram al-Ameri and the Secretaries-Generals of the political parties that are members of the CRA.

The President highly praised the pioneering and constructive role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

" The Kingdom's stances have been a fundamental factor for the cohesion of Yemeni State institutions, the national economy, alleviating humanitarian suffering and fostering security and stability in Yemen and the region".

The meeting devoted to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena and regional events, particularly the escalation by the Iranian regime-allied Houthi terrorist militias.

He blamed the Houthi militias for their insistence on gambling with the interests and resources of the Yemeni people, further worsening their humanitarian suffering.

The President remarked that recent developments have proven that the Houthi militias still rely on escalation to achieve illegitimate gains and their decisions are increasingly tied to external agendas unrelated to the interests of Yemenis.

The Chairman of the PLC urged all Yemeni political parties and forces to take advantage of these changes, reinforce unity, work as one team to maintain internal cohesion and rally around the state scheme.

The battle to restore the State institutions and eliminate the militias' coup isn't just the army's battle, but it is everybody's fight, al-Alimi stressed.

The President emphasized that the current stage requires political parties to reclaim their natural role as forces of enlightenment, mobilization and rallying against threats, to restore respect for the idea of the national state and to reinforce the isolation of militias and their destructive agenda.

The political parties need to make the battle to restore the State institutions a matter for the whole society, not only a government's task or issue, al-Alimi noted.

The Chairman of the PLC stressed that Yemenis today are more aware and more conscious that their real battle is with the Houthi militias and their scheme that confiscated the State, impoverished the people, destroyed their national resources and tangled Yemen's future to destructive, cross-border schemes.
