Foreign Minister Discusses Strengthen Bilateral Relations with Kuwaiti Ambassador

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba discussed Wednesday with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Yemen, Falah Al-Mutairi ways to strengthen and further develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

The two parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation across various fields, particularly in the political, humanitarian, relief and development sectors.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister reviewed the latest developments in Yemen in light of recent events resulting from the escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia, highlighting the threats it poses to security and stability, as well as the political, humanitarian, and economic challenges it has created.

Dr. al-Zouba praised the deep-rooted Yemeni-Kuwaiti relations, emphasizing the longstanding historical and fraternal ties between the two nations.

She also expressed appreciation for Kuwait's continued support for Yemen, its leadership, and its people, as well as Kuwait's efforts to assist the Yemeni government and its ongoing commitment to humanitarian and development initiatives.

The Foreign Minister affirmed that the Yemeni government remains committed to its efforts to restore state institutions and consolidate security and stability. She also reiterated the Yemeni government's solidarity with the State of Kuwait in the face of what she described as Iran's unjust attacks, reaffirming Yemen's support for Kuwait and the measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability, while rejecting any actions that threaten Kuwait's security or violate its sovereignty.

She further commended Kuwait's longstanding support for Yemen throughout various stages and circumstances, particularly during the current period, noting its humanitarian assistance, relief efforts, and development projects implemented across different governorates, which have helped alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

For his part, Kuwaiti Ambassador Falah Al-Mutairi reaffirmed his country's continued support for Yemen, its unity, security and stability.

He stressed Kuwait's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields and continuing its support for humanitarian and development efforts aimed at promoting security and stability and fulfilling the Yemeni people's aspirations for peace and development.
