Sana'a Security Committee Endorses Leadership Decisions, Strengthens Security Preparedness
[28/07/2026 12:08]
SANA'A-SABA

The Security Committee in Sana'a Governorate has reaffirmed its alignment with the political and military leadership, endorsing President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi's recent address and the resolutions issued by the Presidential Leadership Council and the National Defense Council, while adopting measures to enhance military and security preparedness.

Meeting under the chairmanship of Governor Maj. Gen. Abdulqawi Sharif, the committee assessed the security and military situation, reviewed contingency and deployment plans, and discussed steps to improve coordination among military formations and security agencies to ensure rapid and effective implementation of national directives.

The committee renewed its commitment to supporting efforts to restore state institutions, safeguard Yemen's sovereignty, and defeat the Houthi coup.

Sharif said the current circumstances require security and military forces to maintain the highest level of operational readiness, strengthen coordination and discipline, and remain prepared to carry out all assigned duties in support of restoring security and stability.

Addressing tribal leaders, community elders, and residents of Sana'a Governorate, he urged families not to allow their children to be drawn into Houthi mobilization and recruitment campaigns, stressing that the government had pursued every available path to peace while the militia had chosen continued escalation in service of the Iranian agenda.

The committee also denounced Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and commercial shipping in the Red Sea, describing them as actions that undermine Yemen's national interests, threaten regional security, violate international law, and jeopardize international maritime trade.

It expressed appreciation for the continued support provided by Saudi Arabia and the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy, emphasizing that their political, military, economic, and humanitarian assistance remains instrumental in supporting Yemen's legitimate institutions.

Concluding the meeting, the committee approved a series of initiatives aimed at further strengthening the capabilities and readiness of military and security units, affirming that all state security institutions will remain fully prepared to fulfill their national responsibilities until the restoration of the state and the end of the Houthi coup.
