Yemen Calls on OIC to Designate Houthi Militias as Terrorist Organization

The Republic of Yemen has called on the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take a firm stance and classify the Houthi militias as a terrorist organization, cut off their sources of funding and stop the flow of weapons and military expertise to them, in order to counter their ongoing terrorism that has come to threaten the region's security and stability.

Yemen's Ambassador to Jordan, Dr. Jalal Faqira, met on Sunday with President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Nathir Obeidat, to discuss ways to strengthen academic cooperation between the University of Jordan and Yemeni universities.

Ambassador Faqira praised the university's longstanding role in educating and training hundreds of Yemeni professionals, particularly in medicine, engineering, and information technology.

Obeidat reaffirmed the university's commitment to expanding cooperation with Yemeni universities through the exchange of expertise, capacity-building programs, curriculum development, and stronger partnerships with research centers in Yemen.

He also expressed support for developing a memorandum of understanding to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.
