Prime Minister Chairs Government Meeting to Review Latest Developments, Response Plans
[26/07/2026 01:42]

ADEN - SABA
Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani chaired a government meeting on Sunday to review the latest economic, humanitarian and public service developments, and assess the repercussions of the continued attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia on commercial shipping and its threats to the security of the Red Sea and international maritime routes as part of its implementation of the Iranian agenda aimed at undermining regional security and stability.

The meeting, attended by a number of relevant ministers, reviewed the government's contingency plans for various potential scenarios to ensure market stability, maintain the uninterrupted flow of imports and secure strategic reserves of essential commodities, food and fuel.

The participants also reviewed the action plan of the Government Crisis Management Committee, chaired by Prime Minister and comprising several ministers, as the government's central framework for coordination, guidance and follow-up.

The plan is designed to enhance the government's preparedness to respond to any potential escalation or crisis while mitigating its security, political, economic, humanitarian and service-related impacts.

The meeting highlighted the practical measures contained in the plan and stressed the importance of their effective implementation.

Prime Minister Zindani affirmed that, under the directives of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government continues to update its response plans and strengthen its preparedness to address evolving developments in a manner that preserves economic stability and living conditions, while shielding citizens from the consequences of the reckless actions pursued by the Houthi terrorist militia in service of the Iranian agenda.

He stressed that safeguarding economic security and ensuring the availability of citizens' essential needs remain the government's highest priorities at this stage.

Dr. Zindani renewed the government's appreciation for the fraternal support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its pivotal role in supporting Yemen's economy and enhancing the government's capacity to meet its obligations.

He affirmed that the government will continue to work closely with the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy and its international partners to protect international maritime security, restore state institutions and safeguard Yemen's sovereignty.

The meeting stressed that the Houthi terrorist militia's continued targeting of commercial vessels and threats to international navigation not only endanger regional and international security, but also exacerbate the economic and humanitarian hardships facing the Yemeni people, demonstrating the militia's determination to pursue the Iranian agenda at the expense of Yemenis' interests and the prospects for peace and stability.
