Yemen’s Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus Reviews Developments in Yemen with Syrian Official

Yemen’s Chargé d’Affaires in Yemen's Embassy in Damascus Mohammed Baakar discussed Wednesday with Dr. Mohammed al-Ahmad, the Adviser for Arab Affairs in the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates latest developments in Yemen and regional issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Baakar reviewed what he described as violations of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, including the operation of flights from Tehran to Sana’a without prior authorization from the legitimate Yemeni authorities.

He also highlighted the continued threats to international freedom of navigation in the Red Sea posed by the Houthi terrorist militias.

He reviewed the measures taken by the Yemeni government to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and national resources, alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, improve public services, and achieve economic stability.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahmad reaffirmed Syria’s longstanding support for Yemen’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity.

He called for greater regional and international cooperation to support the legitimate Yemeni authorities and their efforts to fulfill the Yemeni people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development.
