The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani held a meeting on Sunday to review the latest developments following the Iranian violations of Yemen's sovereignty and the measures taken to manage the current phase across its political, military, security, diplomatic, economic, and media dimensions, in coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council.

The Cabinet reviewed the latest developments and the executive measures implemented to enhance the readiness of state institutions, ensure a rapid response to various scenarios, unify government performance, safeguard national sovereignty, preserve security and stability, and maintain the delivery of essential public services.

Prime Minister stressed that the government is addressing these developments with the responsibility and discipline of a sovereign state, rather than reacting emotionally.

He emphasized that the government's foremost priorities are protecting Yemen's sovereignty, safeguarding the interests of its citizens, and preventing the Houthi militias and their backers from exploiting the suffering of the Yemeni people for political gains or imposing faits accomplis that undermine the state's authority and sovereignty.

Dr. Zindani noted that the current phase requires all ministries, government institutions, and local authorities to intensify their efforts, strengthen coordination with the military, security, and intelligence agencies, reinforce security and stability, protect strategic facilities, ports, and sovereign border crossings, combat terrorism, smuggling, and corruption, ensure the continuity and improvement of essential public services, and strengthen citizens' confidence in state institutions.

He also instructed authorities to enforce strict market oversight to prevent any attempts to exploit the exceptional circumstances through price increases, hoarding of goods, or practices that negatively affect citizens' livelihoods. He emphasized that the government's responsibility extends beyond safeguarding sovereignty to protecting people's livelihoods and reinforcing public trust in state institutions.

In his message to the international community, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that protecting Yemen's sovereignty is not solely a Yemeni issue but a shared responsibility directly linked to regional security and respect for the principles of international law.

He warned that any leniency toward Iranian violations or attempts by the Houthi militias to impose a fait accompli would not contribute to peace but would instead encourage further escalation and undermine prospects for stability.

The Cabinet affirmed that while the government welcomes humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people—including the initiative launched by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to resume flights between Sana'a and Amman—it remains firmly committed to Yemen's national sovereignty and the state's exclusive authority over the management of its airspace and airports.

The Cabinet stressed that humanitarian considerations must not be used as a pretext to undermine state sovereignty or bypass its legitimate institutions.

The Cabinet once again held the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias fully responsible for the continued escalation, the obstruction of peace efforts, the hindrance of humanitarian initiatives, and the exploitation of state resources in support of their coup agenda.

It called on the militias to place the interests of the Yemeni people above all else and to end policies of escalation and coercion that serve only the Iranian agenda.

The Cabinet reaffirmed that the government, in full coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council, will continue taking all necessary measures to safeguard Yemen's sovereignty and move forward steadily toward restoring state institutions and ending the coup.

The Cabinet approved the formation of the Supreme Supervisory Committee for the Preparation of the 2027–2029 Economic and Social Development Plan chaired by the Prime Minister and comprising several ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank, and representatives from the private sector and civil society organizations, based on a proposal submitted by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation.
