Minister of State, the Governor of Aden Abdulrahman Sheikh discussed on Thursday with Khaldoun Salem, the Advisor to the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) the progress of ongoing projects and explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the development and public service sectors.
The meeting focused on the most pressing development and service needs of Yemen's temporary capital, Aden, particularly priority projects identified by the local authority in the areas of infrastructure and essential public services.
The discussions also covered UNOPS-implemented projects across several sectors aimed at improving living conditions and addressing the needs of the population.
Governor Sheikh emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership with UNOPS and expanding areas of cooperation to meet the development requirements of Aden.
He praised the organization's continued support in implementing a number of vital projects and reaffirmed the local authority's commitment to maintaining close coordination and cooperation with international partners and United Nations agencies.
For his part, the UNOPS Program Advisor reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting priority projects in Aden and working in partnership with the local authority to address citizens' needs while contributing to stability and sustainable development.
