The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba stated that the Yemeni state undertakes its constitutional and sovereign responsibility to protect its citizens, lands, coasts, ports and territorial waters, and that enabling its institutions to carry out this responsibility is a key element for the security of Bab al-Mandeb, the Red Sea and international navigation and trade.

The Minister of Interior Maj. General Ibrahim Haidan deeply appreciated the significant assistance and support provided by the Royal Netherlands to the Ministry of Interior, mainly in the areas of capacity building and training policewomen.

During his talks today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands to the Republic of Yemen Jennette Seppen, General Haidan underscored the need for more assistance to sustain the Ministry's efforts aimed at developing its capacities.

Haidan briefed Seppen on Ministry's ongoing efforts to make the necessary institutional reforms andthe challenges facing the security authorities amid the continuing escalation by the terrorist Houthi militias.

The Dutch Ambassador stated that her government is very interested in supporting Yemen and its security and stability.
