Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaybeh met today, in the interim capital Aden, with the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Catherine Corm Kammoun.
The talks dealt with the Yemeni-French bilateral cooperation in the health sector, priorities for developing the health system, improving primary healthcare services and promoting the sustainability of health services across different governorates.
Dr. Huhaybeh praised the constructive cooperation and partnership with France saying "The partnership with the French Republic represents a model of constructive cooperation in supporting the health sector".
" We're looking forward to expand areas of cooperation to include capacity building, supporting health and educational institutions, and strengthening primary healthcare program" Buhyabeh stressed.
The French Ambassador confirmed her government's keenness to continue supporting Yemen in the health sector and to cooperate with the Ministry of Public Health.
After the meeting, the Minister along with the French Ambassador paid a field visit to the headquarters of the Supreme Medical Council and the Dr. Amin Nasher Higher Institute of Health Sciences.
