Minister of Planning Discusses Enhanced Partnership, Development Priorities in Yemen with Friedrich Ebert Foundation

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Afrah al-Zouba held talks Thursday here with representatives of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Richard Probst and Yemen Relations Officer Irela Gross on ways to strengthen their partnership and expand cooperation in social and economic policies.

The two parties also discussed support peacebuilding efforts, and enhance aid effectiveness in line with the Yemeni government's development, reform, and recovery priorities.

The meeting, attended by Yemen's Ambassador to Germany Louay Al-Eryani, explored opportunities for cooperation in social protection, economic reforms, community dialogue, and the transition from humanitarian response to recovery and sustainable development. Discussions also covered support for applied research and evidence-based dialogue to help improve public policymaking and strengthen coordination among development partners.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and expanding areas of joint cooperation in support of the Yemeni government's efforts to achieve sustainable development, promote economic recovery, and advance peacebuilding.

Dr. al-Zouba expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation's continued presence in Yemen and its decision to continue operating from the temporary capital, Aden, describing it as a reflection of the Foundation's commitment to supporting national institutions and strengthening cooperation with the government.
