His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received on Sunday a high-level delegation from the U.S. oil company Hunt headed by the company’s Chief Executive Officer Hunter Hunt.
The meeting discussed opportunities for partnership between the Yemeni government and Hunt in the fields of oil and gas exploration, production, and export, as well as prospects for resuming the company’s investment activities in a way that contributes to supporting economic recovery efforts and enhancing energy security.
The President was briefed by the U.S. company’s delegation on its activities and future plans, as well as promising investment opportunities in the oil sector and ways to build upon its historic partnership with the Yemeni government.
President al- Alimi praised Hunt’s pioneering role in establishing Yemen’s oil sector, discovering the country’s first commercial oil reserves, contributing to the development of sector infrastructure, and training national personnel.
He also highlighted the company’s role as a key partner in the liquefied natural gas project, affirming that these contributions will remain a source of appreciation and pride for the Yemeni government and people.
President al-Alimi briefed the company’s delegation on the economic, financial, and administrative reforms being led by the government, including reforms in the oil and gas sector, efforts to improve the investment environment, enhance transparency and governance, and provide the necessary guarantees for the return of foreign companies across various sectors.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the state’s commitment to providing all forms of support and facilitation for investors, and to working with allies and partners to secure vital facilities, create suitable conditions for resuming productive activities, and improve living and security conditions in the country.
He emphasized that these efforts represent a top priority for the Yemeni government and its regional and international partners.
