Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, accompanied by his deputy Dr. Abdullah Abu al-Ghaith, arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Thursday to participate in the proceedings of the eighth conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments, scheduled to be held next Saturday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States.
Upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport, he was received by the Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament and member of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Major General Hisham Al-Hosary, along with a number of officials from the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament.
The conference is being held within the framework of discussing three main strategic issues, led by developments related to the Palestinian cause, the repeated attacks by the Iranian regime against some Arab countries, and the growing security challenges facing the region, in addition to the issue of strengthening Arab digital sovereignty.
The conference will also discuss ways to enhance joint Arab parliamentary cooperation and coordinate positions on various regional and international issues, in a manner that contributes to supporting Arab national security and protecting the strategic interests and concerns of Arab countries.
